About P.R.O. Kids

P.R.O. Kids and Youth Communications Group, (Positive Reinforcement On Kids and Youth), was founded in 1994 by two Harlem Globetrotter legends who, out of their concern as parents and role models, joined in an effort to combat problems affecting children. Their mission was, “to positively influence children and youth to reach beyond peer pressure, to encourage education and to stress the importance of good health and nutrition.” Today, there are over 60 P.R.O. Kids ambassadors who continuously visit schools and other organizations around the country to effectively spread these messages.

The foundation of every P.R.O. Kids program is relevant character education combined with ball handling wizardry. This is the P.R.O. Kids unique brand of edu-tainment. All of the programs provide character emphasis and value for youths in 20 states and Canada. P.R.O. Kids has been invited to over 1000 schools and has reached more than 2 million children through in-school character education programs, field trip games and basketball camps!

P.R.O. Kids ambassadors are true champions of charitable organizations. The National Brain Injury Research Treatment and Training Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the Georgia Coalition of Cancer, Kids Against Tobacco Telling The Truth and numerous children’s hospitals have all benefited from the time, talent and donations of P.R.O. Kids and its ambassadors. Additionally, some of the ambassadors have served as literary spokespersons for the National Education Association.

P.R.O. Kids is partnered with Proctor and Gamble as national Crest Healthy Smiles 2010 ambassadors to educate children about oral hygiene and its integral importance to one’s overall health. The program was created in response to the U.S. Surgeon General’s report that revealed a “silent epidemic” of oral disease in America. These messages are shared with elementary school children from New York to Los Angeles.

P.R.O. Kids is welcomed by the media. Ambassadors have been featured across the nation on NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX news programs; and have received coverage in newspapers such as The Chicago Tribune and The Atlanta Journal Constitution. Other national appearances include FOX’s Best Sports Show Period and CBS’ Good Day.
